De opdracht heeft tot doel scholen met Taalheldklassen in het basisonderwijs te ondersteunen bij het realiseren van een kwaliteitsvol en ambitieus onderwijsaanbod voor leerlingen die het Nederlands nog onvoldoende beheersen om volwaardig deel te nemen aan het reguliere curriculum. Daarbij staan taalverwerving, kennisopbouw, curriculumrealisatie van het kennisrijk curriculum en doorstroom naar het reguliere onderwijs centraal. Zie opdrachtdocumenten voor verdere info.
