Description
Das LIB betreibt am Standort Bonn derzeit drei µ-Computer-Tomographen. Das LIB scannt verschiedenste organische Proben, hauptsächlich Tiere, die teilweise gefärbt, in Flüssigkeiten, luftgetrocknet oder anderweitig fixiert sind. Es werden so gut wie niemals zwei gleiche Proben oder Arten gescannt. Daher werden an das neue Gerät extreme Anforderungen in Bezug auf Vielseitigkeit und Einstellungsmöglichkeiten durch den Nutzer gestellt. Zwei der vorhandenen Geräte sind in die Jahre gekommen und werden demnächst ausgemustert, bevor ihre Quellen ganz versagen. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Gerät mit Flatfield Panel, das Proben bis zu 10 cm Durchmesser und ca. 16 cm Länge scannen kann. Typische Anwendungen am LIB für dieses Gerät sind Kopfscans von Schlangen, Fischen oder Aufnahmen ganzer Eidechsen. Das Zweite Gerät verfügt über einen CCD Detektor mit 4000 x 4000 Pixeln, der hochauflösende Scans von kleinen Proben wie z.B. Insekten oder Köpfe von kleinen Fischen (Rice-Fische) ermöglicht. Beide…
