Description
Het bestaande Ontmoetingscentrum aan de Otterweg 27-29 in Beek en Donk is een accommodatie waarin cultuur-, welzijns- en sportorganisaties gezamenlijk zijn gehuisvest. Ook het naastgelegen Kindcentrum De Raagten maakt gebruik van de sportfaciliteiten. De exploitatie van het Ontmoetingscentrum is uitbesteed aan Stichting Dorpshuizen Laarbeek (SDL). Het huidige ontmoetingscentrum is in 1985 gebouwd en in de loop van de jaren diverse keren uitgebreid. De gemeente Laarbeek wil het huidige ontmoetingscentrum in Beek en Donk slopen en op dezelfde locatie een nieuwbouw realiseren. Het nieuwe ontmoetingscentrum moet het bruisend maatschappelijk hart van het dorp worden: een multifunctionele accommodatie waarin ruimten door verenigingen en organisaties naar behoefte worden gehuurd. Een plek die vrij toegankelijk is voor iedereen, inclusief jong en oud, en geëxploiteerd wordt door een professionele organisatie.
