Description

Background Lærdalsøyri is the municipal centre in Lærdal municipality and it is subject to flaum from Lærdalselvi. Lærdal municipality shall, in cooperation with the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), prepare an area development plan for total flaum protection for Lærdalsøyri. Lærdal municipality is the contracting authority and responsible for preparing the development plan. Bromwich has, on behalf of NVE, prepared a moglegheits study for heil-friendly protection of Lærdalsøyri against flaum disposals in Lærdalselvi. The study shows that it is mogleg to sikra Lærdalsøyri against flaum, but that this require encompassing measures on both sides of the river over a larger geographical area. The measures must be ready for planning before they can be engineered and executed.
