In absehbarer Zukunft werden die Kreiskliniken des Landkreises Lörrach und das St.Elisabethen-Krankenhaus im neuen Zentralklinikum Lörrach (Dreiland-Klinikum- Lörrach), im Nordosten der Stadt vereint. In diesem Zusammenhang wird auch der Standort des Kreiskrankenhauses in Lörrach aufgegeben. Das ca. 3,5 ha große innenstadtnahe Areal zwischen der Röntgenstraße im Süden, der Spitalstraße im Osten, der Körnerstraße im Norden und dem Gewerbekanal „Neuer Teich“ im Westen, wird an die Stadt Lörrach zurückfallen und für eine Folgenutzung frei. Das Krankenhaus-Areal ist einer der wichtigen Transformationsorte der Stadt und im Kontext mit der Weiterentwicklung der Gesamtstadt zu sehen. Die Entwicklung des Areals soll dementsprechend im Kontext der Stärkung Lörrachs als urbane und lebenswerte Stadt in der Region verstanden werden. Ziel ist es, mutige, innovative und unkonventionelle Entwurfsansätze zu entwickeln, die den gegenwärtigen Städtebau hinterfragen und eine auf Lörrach zugeschnittene…
