Description
Im Rahmen der Stationsoffensive des Investitionsprogramms „Niedersachsen ist am Zug 3“ werden insgesamt drei Eisenbahnbahnhaltepunkte in Braunschweig in den nächsten Jahren reaktiviert. Neben den bereits in Planung befindlichen Haltepunkten Bienrode und Leiferde soll nun der Bahnhaltepunkt Braunschweig-West zwischen den Ortsteilen Weststadt und Broitzem im Bereich Friedrich-Seele-Straße, Neckarstraße, Donaustraße und Marienberger Straße entwickelt werden. Zur attraktiven Entwicklung des Umsteigepunktes soll in der Federführung der Stadt Braunschweig u. a. der Übergang vom SPNV zum ÖPNV über neue Bushaltestellen (inkl. Buspausenplätze) hergestellt werden. Weiterhin gilt es einen P+R-Platz, eine Kiss&Ride-Zone, ein neues Fahrradparkhaus, sowie neue Verkehrswege (inkl. neuer Querungsanlagen) zur optimalen Verknüpfung von Fußverkehr, Radverkehr und MIV zu planen, deren Notwendigkeit im weiteren Verlauf genauer beschrieben wird.
