Description
Das Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf beabsichtigt die Beschaffung eines Hyperpolarisators für den Forschungsneubau CARDDIAB. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Gerät zur Erzeugung einer 13C-markierten Lösung (mindestens Pyruvat), dessen Polarisationsgrad über dem durch die Boltzmann-Statistik zu erwartenden Polarisationsgrad liegt (hyperpolarisiert). Im Folgenden wird solch eine Lösung "Probe" genannt. Die Menge und der Polarisationsgrad der Proben müssen in einer Größenordnung erzeugt wer-den, dass die Forschung an Schweinen (ca. 150 kg). Idealerweise ist perspektivisch eine Anwendung am Menschen möglich. Eine applizierbaren Probe sollte daher ein Volumen von ca. 40 ml aufweisen und der Polarisationsgrad nach Abschluss der Erzeugung mehr als 10 % betragen.
