Rother District Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced main contractor for the design and construction of a new four-bay steel portal frame workshop and associated facilities at its existing Sidley Depot, to serve the Biffa-operated waste collection fleet delivering statutory waste services under the Joint Waste Partnership. The site is the former East Sussex County Council Highways Depot at Elva Way, Bexhill-on-Sea. The freehold is held by East Sussex County Council; Rother District Council is the leaseholder. The site is in continuous operational use as a waste collection depot by Biffa Waste Services Ltd under the Joint Waste Partnership (Rother District Council, Wealden District Council and Hastings Borough Council). The site comprises a generally rectangular concrete-surfaced yard with vehicular access from Elva Way to the north via existing double gates.
