Cardiovascular and oncological diseases remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Montenegro and the wider cross-border region. According to GLOBOCAN 2020 data, Montenegro recorded 3,184 new cancer cases and 1,765 cancer-related deaths. With the expected increase in cancer incidence, an ageing population, and existing healthcare challenges, improving early detection, diagnostics, and access to specialised treatment is becoming increasingly important. The Clinical Centre of Montenegro (CCM), as the country's leading tertiary healthcare institution, plays a crucial role in providing specialised oncology services. Through this project, CCM aims to strengthen its diagnostic and treatment capacities, introduce advanced medical technologies, and improve the quality and accessibility of cancer care.
