Description
De opdracht betreft de architectonische uitwerking van de vernieuwbouw, inclusief de buitenruimte, van het Montessori Vaklyceum aan de Vondellaan 83 in Groningen. De opgave omvat de voorbereiding, het ontwerp en de verdere uitwerking van een toekomstbestendige onderwijshuisvesting, passend bij de ambities van Openbaar Onderwijs Groningen en de gemeente Groningen. De vernieuwbouw bestaat uit het behoud van circa 1.300 m² van het bestaande gebouw uit 1968 en de realisatie van circa 4.000 m² nieuwbouw, gezamenlijk circa 5.300 m² BVO. Het bestaande bouwdeel uit 1968 vertegenwoordigt een belangrijke cultuurhistorische waarde en vormt daarmee niet slechts een bestaand gebouw dat behouden blijft, maar een wezenlijk vertrekpunt voor de ontwerpopgave. Naast het gebouw maakt ook de directe buitenruimte onderdeel uit van de ontwerpopgave.
