ProRail heeft behoefte aan inzicht in de conditie van de rijdraad, met specifieke aandacht voor de dunne plekken. Het doel van deze aanbesteding is om met één partij een raamovereenkomst te sluiten voor betrouwbare metingen van de rijdraaddikte (dunne plekken) op lage snelheid, om invulling te geven aan deze behoefte. De Overeenkomst heeft een vaste looptijd van 5 jaar met 3 keer een optie tot verlenging van 1 jaar. De maximale looptijd komt hiermee op 8 jaar.
